At the Musée du Luxembourg, from 16 March to 9 July, the Réunion des Musées Nationaux-Grand Palais is organising a monographic exhibition on an entirely new subject, focusing on the last two decades of Camille Pissarro’s career. Along with family archives, around 100 spectacular yet little known paintings, drawings and engravings made in Éragny-sur-Epte between 1884 and 1903, and coming from the biggest museum and dedicated collections in the world, illustrate the least studied period of the artist’s career. He made his home in the village of Éragny in 1884 in a beautiful home which he owned thanks to a loan from Claude Monet, and where he remained for the rest of his life. Pissarro was at the heart of real artistic and intellectual ferment and applied his political convictions to his painting and to his way of life.
With this analysis of around twenty works, you can discover the meadows and roads which made up the landscapes which Pissarro always ended up going back to.
